Sardinian Regional history: we are interested?
Valentina Esposito
Sardinia ... one of the most beautiful places in the world. There are people who live there, people who are just on vacation for a few days but, by the way, everyone will fall in love.
The reason is clear: it is the beauty of its coastline, almost exotic, its mountains and the hospitality of the people the population.
Yet we know so little about this land. Its history, its roots are so many unknown and it is a sin to ignore his past. But thanks to the proposal of Professor Martinez (once accepted by us) for us in the class are at hand. With the addition of a few hours some evening classes taught by experts, we can now learn about the history of our country, maybe not so interesting in comparison to that of France or England, but as much fun to discover and deepen. My colleagues have found the work interesting, innovative and even atypical
interesting because it's nice to inquire about our origins, the place names of certain important streets and squares of Cagliari, and administrative and economic and mentality that our ancestors had in the past;
innovative because the regional history is not usually a subject of study and as such, many professors and consequently many young ignore the ignorance out free space;
atypical because it is really rare to find people who devote themselves body and soul but also time to transmit a passion so strong in the boys of seventeen to eighteen years.
I can quote some remarks of my own classmates to see how this project has been described as positive
"I think it is very really interesting to see what my origins, because this is a matter that does not usually deepens and underestimate its importance because, as was written on a wall at Auschwitz "who do not know history, will be forced to relive it" Therefore, even if it means some sacrifice I'm happy to be able to participate in these lessons can go on more and more I realize I know very little;
Or
"personally, I find that further aspects of the history of Sardinia is a good idea. Many of us know little about it, and this way you risk losing, from our generation, our regional identity. As about the lecture given by Professor Beef, I think it was interesting and useful, especially as a first taste on the general issues we face in the future. For subsequent lessons, it would be nice if we could program outputs, such as archives, so as to have some practical evidence of what we have been taught through the lectures. "
I also have many other considerations all in the same vein, and common views with one desire: to learn to learn.
